Job Summary

Responsible for performing general construction duties, maintenance and repairs in support of new plant construction, rebuilding and existing plant upgrading. Operates vehicles if required. Typically is vocationally qualified with limited work experience. Works on straight forward tasks using established procedures. Work is subject to review by others. Depends on others for instruction, guidance and direction.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities


Performs overhead/underground physical labor construction such as: digs holes, lays foundations, places poles, lays cables, unreels, pulls and strings wire from pole to pole.

Works to dismantle, move or remove aerial, underground ,or building wire, cable equipment, poles and hardware. Installs and replaces power supplies, converters and terminal boxes.

Provides support to inspect existing grounds or makes new grounds according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) in order to protect employees, customers and equipment from electrical shock or damage.

Completes associated paperwork with each work order in a timely manner in order to ensure all details of work are recorded for entry in the customer's account once the work is checked in.

Operates and maintains installation of tools and construction equipment.

Works with Developers and customers on infrastructure requirements to ensure services will be available to their commercial and residential dwellings.

Adheres to Company procedures and safe work practices.

Cleans, maintains and stocks vehicle and equipment in order to perform required duties.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Additional Notes:


Employee will be inspecting and completing minor repairs of poles and overhead lines to ensure adherence to GO-95.

This position will involve 1.5 miles of walking per day.

The coverage area will include Nevada and El Dorado counties.
