Job Description:
The Construction Supervisor is a key role in our QGC Asset based in Chinchilla. You will ensure that well sites and access roads are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and in compliance with local government and Shell policies.
You will be responsible for supervising staff and contractors performing operations on the lease pad, access road and rehabilitation / construction site activities. Ensuring that all work is completed in conjunction with QGC policies, procedures and work practices, with particular attention to health, safety, security, environment, and Cultural Heritage requirements is paramount.
Some of the key deliverables and responsibilities of this role are:
Work with the Construction Manager/Project Manager to ensure safety has the highest priority and is at the forefront of planning, execution and in all dealings with contractors and service providers
Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to implement the safety management system and legislative requirements and that they are fully complied with
Ensure the full team is adequately trained and competent in safety management skills and comply with operating area and company reporting requirements
Perform ASA’s (Advanced Safety Audits) and contractor compliance audits on a regular basis
Point of contact for the reporting of work site incidents and be part of and initiate accident and incident investigations as required
Ensure all contractor and service providers are fully conversant in Shell’s safety expectations and hold regular meetings with all local managers

Requirements:
As the successful candidate for the role you should have:
Extensive Civil Supervision experience in the oil and gas sector
Educated in a relevant discipline
Commitment to safety
Knowledge of construction standards and regulations
Excellent interpersonal skills
Project management skills
Ability to make prompt decisions with a continual focus on safety outcomes
With a strong commitment to Safety and Environment you will have an in depth experience in oil drilling and exploration lease and road construction and rehabilitation. You would have worked with safety management systems and the application of HSSE principles within this particular area.
Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to work effectively in/and across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and in different locations such as landholders, whilst maintaining a high work level of work ethic, being able to work autonomously and being passionate about diving our company’s safety performance.
You will have a high level of problem solving skills. Able to think around issues and problems and find solutions. We are looking for a results orientated and motivated achiever with good time management skills.
