****Job Description POSITION PURPOSE
The role will be part of a site based team to provide contract administration support through construction and commissioning of the WSTP Facilities as well as supporting various other program initiatives. This will include the identification and analysis of potential risks.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Review contracts and subcontract details for assessment of potential contractual risk;
Development of risk and change management strategies;
Tracking project risks on the risk register; including regular updates of proposed or executed mitigations;
Understanding the interactions and impacts between existing plant process and new construction in order to provide strategic mitigation of risks;
Active management of contract claims information to maintain claim files on active or potential contractor claims;
Maintain a continuous record of work events including working days and days lost due to inclement weather during the course of the contract(s);
Provision of information in claims/appeal meetings with City Project Managers and City Counsel;
Assistance to prepare/coordinate claim packages;
Preparation/drafting of contract change notices; additions or deletions to the contract including providing an assessment of cost and schedule impact to the city;
Communication to stakeholders the effect of risk or change orders to budget or schedule of the project;
Support towards project reporting procedures;
Support Lead Contract Administrator in day to day activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education / Experience / Background
Professional Engineer (Civil or Mechanical) or C.E.T. with directly applicable experience;
Construction Management experience for a minimum of ten (10) years;
Minimum of five (5) years of construction claims management experience;
Experience on projects where continuity of current operations was an important factor;
Experience on a project where the project site has multiple contracts (DB&s, DBB’s) being conducted simultaneously;
Experience with the construction of major wastewater treatment projects in Canada, pertaining to raw sewage pumping, fine screening, compactors and grit removal systems, and dewatering;
Experience in reviewing technical performance specifications.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training
Grade 4 MA Water Treatment License, or 4 OIT with ability to obtain a full 4 Water Treatment License required
