Job Description:

An Active Extended Leadership Member of the site; participating and leading site wide focus groups, extending beyond the TA workspace. Partner with Site TA Manager to develop TA delivery capability into the organization, including mentoring of other TA Event Managers.

Accountable for planning and execution of turnaround (TA) events with high to mega-complexity, integrating projects and catalyst changes.

Accountable to deliver Best in Class TA performance consistent with site TA aspirations, including annualized cost, duration, and scoping.

Works closely with (partners with) Extended Site Leadership and other Managers to ensure that appropriate resources are dedicated to the planning and execution of Site TA Events.

Works with other execution organizations (including other sites) to prioritize and staff peak execution efforts.

Provide a regional presence for Deer Park with respect to TA Excellence initiatives, influencing best practice TA delivery beyond Deer Park.

Accountable for the safety performance of all personnel on assigned events.

Responsible for delivery of the TA event within approved premises. Delivery includes predictability within a competitive cost structure.

Development of premises for assigned TA and delivery of those premises, including proposed TA duration and cost targets and gap to potential closure plans.

Actively contributes and sponsors the development of the Regional Contracting strategies.

Partners with Production and Supporting organizations for scope definition.

Ensure all scope is integrated into a single plan and schedule and reflected accurately in TA work packs.

Develop TA milestones and deliverables based on a portfolio of multiple events.

Ensures the Turnaround Milestones are met with high quality deliverables.

Ensure that all scope is risk assessed against accepted practices and established risk tolerances.

Ensure TA schedule is integrated across multiple production areas and large project load.

Secures funding for the integrated event and partners with budget owners to ensure competitive delivery.

Team Leader of the TA Steering Team and Leadership Team for assigned event category.

Ensures that the turnaround is planned and executed in compliance with safety and environmental standards and regulations.

Ensures compliance to all appropriate work processes and department practices.

Ensure multi-discipline integration and alignment of contractor and Shell organization.

Ensures optimal control of safety, scope, cost, time and quality including taking corrective measures.

Removes obstacles (alignment, resource constraints, work processes) to ensure successful execution of the turnaround event.

Ensures that pre-turnaround work is completed on schedule.

Ensures appropriate communications to site leadership and ME&S leadership

Coaches and motivates functional staff to ensure alignment and delivery of the turnaround event objectives.

Accountable for controlling scope by consistent application of addenda process.

Accountable for planning and execution of assigned turnaround events(s).

Ensures that consistent planning premises are incorporated into the planning process – estimating tools, productivity factors, etc.

Incorporates best practices and learnings from previous events.

Organizes and facilitates the turnaround event lookback, post investment review, and learning process, and incorporates best practices into future events and shares with broader organization.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Must have at least twenty (20) years of Manufacturing or Petrochemical experience with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Turnaround leadership positions.

A degree in Engineering or Construction Management degree is preferred but not required.

Proven experience in managing high complexity Turnaround events. Recognized expert in planning and execution of large TA Event .

Ability to work across business lines and organizational layers. Strong ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders, building credibility and have ability to influence both site management and staff at all levels.

Ability to develop and implement strategy and novel ways of working to deliver results

Demonstrable experience in leading, developing and coaching team to deliver outstanding results

Experience where candidate has developed: excellent communication skills, strong customer focus, team working ability, leadership and coaching skills, project management skills, knowledge of HSSE management systems, and knowledge of contracting and procurement processes.

Key competences include the ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel, experience with Primavera Planning and Scheduling, the ability to implement change, presentation skills, the ability to influence organizations, the ability to Facilitate meetings.
