Construction jobs are once again increasing in the country after being hit hard by the recession through 2006-2010, says ConstructionCrossing. This has been well documented in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2012-13 Edition that projects a 33 percent increase in construction jobs by 2020. Accordingly, an estimate of 1.8 million jobs will be added in the construction sector of the country. Hiring trends on ConstructionCrossing support this report. A job search on the website reveals that there are 8900 active construction jobs that are yet unfilled.

According to Harrison Barnes, Chief Executive Officer at ConstructionCrossing, "Construction of homes and office buildings, increasing remodeling projects and the repair and replacement of the nation's infrastructure are giving impetus to jobs in the construction sector." Additionally, the new analysis of the federal employment data, recently released by the Associated General Contractors of America, shows that there is an uptick in construction jobs. The trade association for the construction industry claims that employment in the building trades have grown in 191metropolitan areas between June 2012-13. With lot of promising data on hand, experts have scores of reasons to believe that the construction industry is on the mend.

The Associated General Contractors of America has reported that Pascagoula in Mississippi, Eau Claire in Wisconsin and the Metro Atlanta areas have shown some of the highest levels of job growth between June 2012 and June 2013. Pascagoula in Mississippi has shown a 33 percent improvement in construction jobs due to busy shipyards. Similarly, Eau Claire added 4,200 construction jobs in June, up 31% from a year earlier, while Atlanta's construction employment rose by 91,400 jobs at the end of June, adding more than 4000 construction jobs over the span.

A more recent market research conducted by ConstructionCrossing shows that metro areas like Boston-Cambridge-Quincy in Massachusetts and Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown in Texas have added 9,900 new positions related to the construction industry in the market. Of these, 1252 jobs (204 in Massachusetts and 1048 in Texas) are posted on ConstructionCrossing.com. Moreover, the jobs market for the construction industry also shows great potential in areas like Texas, Washington, California, Florida and New York on the ConstructionCrossing website.
